The new XP search coil we have all been waiting for

Let’s talk about some new and interesting features within the new HF2 coil from XP:
This coil has completely new electronics, let’s not forget with XP the coil is where most of the clever stuff lives, some say it is the brain.
Within this really nice carbon stem is the new heavy-duty battery and that’s needed to run the high power transmitter, which now provides 3 times more power improving ground penetration and a better signal-to-noise ratio (less EMI to you and me).
I nearly forgot, there is now a clever new charging clip, because the battery is in the stem, it slides right into the top, at last !

HF2 Elliptical coil operating frequencies
Using the Deus 2 metal detector in simultaneous fast multi frequency, you have 9 to 90 kHz and 9 to 120Khz in mono (single selectable frequencies).
What are the key advantages when metal detecting at high frequencies?
Better sensitivity and depth when hunting for small targets. I know what you are thinking, the XP Deus 2 already finds the smallest of targets, perhaps it’s more a case of unmasking capabilities.
The importance of unmasking
Having the best unmasking is essential when metal detecting an ancient site because you are hunting for small non-ferrous targets.
If the land has seen habitation for hundreds if not thousands of years the soil becomes contaminated, your desired targets will probably be hiding in-between Ferrous items, such as small nails or even mineralized ground.
Using a metal detector with a fact reactivity and superior unmasking capabilities will give you a great advantage.
The smaller form factor
It sees less ground… so it is less reactive to difficult soils, making a smoother operation and in turn helping you focus on those tiny sounds.
Weight 456g with carbon fibre lower stem. 24cm x13cm or 5”x 9.5” in English.

The pitfalls when metal detecting with a high frequency
Running a high frequency comes with its inherent problems, for example high frequencies can see wet ground as a signal, if you reject it you can lose the sensitivity to small targets.
Also running a high frequency on mineralized ground can also be a challenge.
XP Metal Detectors have worked all this out with the new XP Deus 2 update to compliment this new HF2 Elliptical coil, don’t worry all your other coils will still work seamlessly, plus there are a couple of new features within the new Deus 2 update.
New XP Deus 2 update
Because my current software is a Beta, I think it will be wise to cover the finalized update in another video, however I will say the new lower silencer option will be something interesting to follow.

What is the best XP Deus 2 program to use with the HF2 elliptical coil?
Having spent some time Beta testing this coil, I found the Tekkna program compliments it very well, if you want a high performance 2 Tone program, why not have a look at my XP Deus 2 GS1 Program.
However, XP did suggest I use it with the factory default General program.
Why the general program – I asked the same question….
With this new coil technology and revised update XP suggested that using the General program would better demonstrate the benefits on our wet UK soil, Personally I rarely use General on an ancient site, because it has the built-in Ground subtraction I have always been concerned about masking tiny targets.
According to XP this is no longer the case, and they were highly insistent I spent some time with the General program…. Apparently this is the new way to go……We will see about that !
