Scott Lumen E-Ride 910
E Bikes on test with the Skill School
Carbon frame-Integrated rear suspension with 120mm travel – TQ 50Nm motor.
This E bike is an all-rounder and the Skill and the School Team had a chance to punish it.
Before we start, I would like to point out I am not an EMTB connoisseur, I am just your average middle-aged guy looking to spend some time re kindling my youth and hoping to get a little fitter along the way.
350 Watt Battery
The slimline battery fits snugly into the frame, we got whole days testing out of a full charge, and most of that was in PAS 3.
Super silent TQ motor
Made in Germany this 250w motor really surprised us, it’s only a small package, but it somehow delivered 50Nm of torque, this is what we are getting out of some of the 1000w big boys.
This bike was far more capable than I was.
Let’s hit the trails
Instantly I could feel this bike had a massive advantage, as the 17Kg weight really helped with the power to weight ratio, the Scott Lumen felt punchy through the mud and nimble through the twisties.
The radical steering geometry kept the bars straight and true when entering some challenging terrain.
It is hard to imagine this tiny TQ motor would be capable of delivering so much in return.
When I was told the Scott Lumen was designed as a Mountain bike with assistance, I found it hard to imagine what to expect.
But after a while on the trails, I became very familiar with its wants and needs.
The more pedal power you put in, the more responsive the Lumen was.
Pedal ssist levels
1 to 3 – or OFF
1 to 3 is self-explanatory, I was mildly sceptical about the ability to ride with no assistance, but it was a breeze.
I found on most level ground, pedal assist 1 and the correct gear choice was more than adequate.

Final thoughts on the Scott Lumen E Ride 910
First of all we would like to thank Right Bike in Petersfield for the loan of the Scott Lumen.
This bike was a real pleasure to use, the trick bits were all functional items and not gimmicks we see on so many bikes.
The rear integrated Fox shock is nested well away from dirt or potential damage, this also made cleaning simple, the Shimano hydraulic 4 pot brakes gave a good feel when braking and inspired confidence s my testing progressed.
