Review by the Skill School
Is the Engwe E26 just another E bike?
Those of you regular to my channel know I have always been a big fan of Engwe products.
The E26 has only been with me for a short while, and it has already earned a permanent place in my ever expanding E Bike collection.
The Engue E26 comes out of the box restricted to UK laws, all you need to do is build it up which takes around 30 minutes and change the speed from Kilometres to MPH which takes less than a minute.
Engwe E26 Braking system
Stopping power is more than adequate with the Hydraulic calipers and 180mm rotors. This is a very nice feature to have on such a big bike.
The Engwe E26 comes with a full lighting kit, including a brake light.
Engwe E26 Suspension
The E26 is a hard tail bike, however the hydraulic seat post certainly makes the riding experience better on bumpy roads and tracks.
The generic front suspension has a small amount of adjustment, but it is rarely tinkered with.
I really wish these better Chinese E Bike manufacturers would invest in air forks or something a little more substantial, as I feel the front suspension is always somewhat lacking.
Engwe E26 Power and performance
Certainly no complaints in that department, even in the UK compliant 250w restricted power mode, the E26 smashed my hill tests in the sat down riding position. Because the E26 is a Fat Tyre E Bike, with more drag than a conventional bike, I found myself using power assist level 5 on most inclines.
My final thoughts
If you are looking for a tractable Electric bike, I would not hesitate recommending the Engwe products, the E26 is up there with my favourites.
Available in 2 models, the high bar {shown) and the step through, also 3 different colours, Galaxy Grey, Gem Blue and Bumblebee Yellow, shown below in the step through models.
