Let’s go out into the night !
My first task was to test the colour night vision, it soon became apparent that the colour image had room for improvement, it works best at dusk, when a reasonable amount of ambient light is available.

Also, the 7 IR modes are not active in the colour night vision setting.
Here in winter the dusk period is very short-lived, within an hour of sunset it is almost pitch black.

Ease of use
When a button is pressed, the top interface lights up, so you can clearly see where the function buttons are located.
The IR button has a short and long press, short press is zoom, long press is IR intensity.
What is IR ?
IR is an Infra Red light used to light up dark areas, just like a torch, it is virtually invisible to the naked eye.

To say I was terrified would be an understatement, however “as they say” the show must go on.
This is when the night vision capabilities really impressed me. In pitch black with IR set at 1, the night became day !

I found the image from the screen to be sharper than the 4k camera image, The adjustable focus ring make the Akaso Seemor 200 ideal for a variety of environments, from urban streets to rugged outdoor trails.
The black and white image with IR set at 1 are my preferred setting.
