The Nokta Legend is back
The Legend is back in a whole new package, a new carbon fibre stem, revised coil mounts, new interface, let’s cut to the chase, this metal detector has had a really big makeover….But is it enough ?

Its early days with the Nokta Legend 2, I still feel it has the same sharp signal and overall characteristics as the Legend 1, for me one of the biggest noted improvements is stability, the ability to use the higher M2 frequency on wet grass, animals grazing + wet ground makes very salty conductive ground, this is when the M3 or beach modes have been the better options.
So now it is good to search wet pasture for those small hammered and Roman coins with confidence.
The quick access menu
This is a lifesaver, simply press the up / down arrow to access 5 quick access features, this saves labour-intensive time scrolling through menus to find the feature you want – Quick menu options are:
Sensitivity – Frequency – Discrimination – Recovery Speed – Bottle cap Reject and Stabilizer.
Factory programs
You will also see at the top of the screen, we have 5 factory programs.
Park – Field – Beach – Relic and Goldfield, they each have 1 factory default and 3 empty user slots to save your favourite programs.
This is done by pressing the left arrow key.

What is the Nokta Legend 2 like to use in the field?
Firstly I always spend a little time in the office, running through the settings and features, just to build up some muscle memory, I find this process a must if you want to get the best out of your day’s metal detecting, confidence in the settings will pay off dividends when out in the field.
My Nokta Legend 2 set up
I used the field program with 3 tones and changed the Iron volume to 10, middle to last tone break at 60 and a wide open discrimination.
I found it was easy to overcook the sensitivity, 20 was a good compromise.
As time was limited my chosen targets were simply high conductive coins, and the Nokta Legend 2 didn’t let me down, they sang out with a pure unmissable high tone every time.

Some interesting finds
I didn’t put all my finds on video, however I did find a huge piece of lead at an impressive depth.
It has some markings on it and I believe it to be quite old.
You can see more by watching the full video posted at the bottom of this page.
Ferrous and Non-Ferrous meter
I found this meter to be a valuable asset, those pesky signals from mis-shaped Iron can catch any detector out, I very often got a sweet signal, but the meter was clearly saying no!
There lots more in the video
The Nokta Legend 2 has left me suitably impressed, and there is a lot more to see, why not sit back and watch my full Skill School video review.
